Adventure Trips
Join us for hiking, backpacking, kayaking, or cycling! We offer a variety of types, lengths, and levels of adventure trips. Each trip is lead by two BWM guides who are knowledgeable in outdoor adventuring and passionate about offering people experiences to know God deeper while developing community through outdoor recreation.
Annual Retreat
The Wilderness Retreat caps off the end of each summer season in early Fall. Although the specific focus of the retreat changes each year, our basic goal remains the same: to offer a space for people to engage in meaningful community while growing deeper with the Creator.
Service Projects
Give back to the trails! Each year we try to organize at least one service project geared toward taking care of the wild spaces in which we recreate. It is a great way to meet new people, give back to the community, and care for Creation.
International Service
Since 2005, BWM has sent small teams to Romania to partner with Torchbearer’s Romania and their outdoor adventure programs. Whether teaching outdoor adventure based leadership techniques to camp staff or working on building projects, we are privileged and blessed to continue this ongoing international partnership.
Gatherings
On most first Tuesdays of each month, we build community through informal gatherings that always include yummy food and usually have some sort of “educational” presentation. Past topics include: lightweight backpacking, Patagonia slideshow, using hiking poles, and gear manufacturing in China. Check the website for information on the next upcoming gathering.
Outdoor Servant Leadership
We’re always looking for new leaders who are excited to share their love of God and love of the wilderness. Generally our main recruitment occurs in late winter, but no matter the time of year, if you are interested in serving with BWM, please let us know! For those interesting in guiding, you will have to complete a short application process, attend the overnight leader training, and co-lead an adventure with another “seasoned” leader.
